Aluminium Capping

The S&G aluminium capping system has been designed to provide an end product that is both practical and low maintenance that will finish off any parapet or perimeter wall.
This is achieved through a dry joint system and a wrap over installation application that means the majority of cappings can be completed from the roof side therefore eliminating costly access issues.

Lightning Protection

Aluminium is a suitable material for use as a lightning conductor. S&G can supply lightning linkages as required providing electrical continuity in accordance with BS6651.

Composition and Manufacture

As standard all capping are manufactured from aluminium sheet grade 1050H14 or others upon request with a minimum thickness of 2mm. For cappings that are over 500mm wide or a curved profile then the minimum thickness becomes 3mm. Joints and mid support brackets are manufactured from aluminium alloy grade 6063T4, complete with profiles and rubber gaskets.

All fabricated fittings: ie, corner, ‘T’ junction, end cap and upstand are mitred, welded then finished to give a good smooth appearance.

Compatibility

All aluminium products should be suitably isolated from other dissimilar materials such as steel / copper because of the likelihood of a cross bio-metallic reactions, which will therefore result in the failure of any aluminium system.

Durability

Aluminium is a lightweight clean and very durable material, it does not rust and in most commercial environments will offer a life expectancy exceeding 60 years.
